This weeks Artist Spotlight is 9 Worlds
Where are you based?
I am from Ontario in Canada
How did you first get into music?
I was always into music as a kid, playing on keyboards or guitars. I discovered Armin Van Buuren playing Trance music at Tomorrowland 2018 when I was 14. He played a song called “Our Origin” which I fell in love with Trance music and started making my own. I then started making melodic dubstep and all kinds of Bass music.
Do you play any instruments?
I do! I mainly play piano, but I also play some guitar and bass sometimes!
Describe your music style
So my style is very ambient and Trance, it has either a darker tone or brighter tone to it. I always usually have vocals on my songs, it tells a story and creates an emotion. I’m very story driven with my music, whether that be through melodies, sounds, vocals, etc! I try and change worlds in my arrangements, whether that be through sounds, chords/melodies etc, it tells a story! I do a lot of cool experimental stuff in my songs as well, which “Light Go Out” definitely does. I try and always have this worldly cinematic vibe to it!
Who are you favorite artists?
I would have to say Armin Van Buuren, Seven Lions, Jason Ross, Blanke, & Kompany!
Who would your dream music collaboration be with?
Probably Seven Lions or Jason Ross, our styles are all very similar to Trance music!
What are your favorite VST / Synths or programs in general to use when producing your music?
It’s quite a few! I use Serum, Sylenth1, Massive, Valhalla Room, Pro-Q3, and mostly all of Ableton 11’s stock plugins!
What interests or hobbies do you have outside of music?
I’m very into gaming! I play a lot of Halo & God Of War! I also go to the gym a lot and workout as well. I also like a lot mythical stuff, whether that be cool things in my studio like Dragons, books, etc.
